JBT Tournament Rules
The Entry Fee is $30 per tournament. Breakdown of entry fee is as follows: $15 Scholarship Fund, $12 Lineage, $3 Tournament Expenses. At a minimum, scholarships will be awarded at a ratio of 1:6. 100% of fees designated as scholarship fund will be paid out. Entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. All entrants must be ready to check-in 15 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time.
An annual Membership Fee of $20 will be required by all bowlers wishing to compete in any tournament. The membership fee must be paid prior to the start of the tournament at which you would like to compete. All participants must be USBC Youth Certified bowlers.
Handicap will be based on 90% of each bowler's average as of March 15th from 220. A current standing sheet (March 15th, 2009) MUST accompany each entry. The minimum entering average will be based on 120. Negative handicap will not be used. The tournament director reserves the right to re-rate any bowler. Any bowler who does not have a current average must use the average of 220.
Each bowler will bowl a 4 game qualifier across 8 lanes. The top 1/3 qualifiers will advance to a 2 game second round to be bowled across 4 lanes. The top 5 bowlers after total pins for 6 games will advance to the step ladder format finals. Scholarship awards after the final five bowlers will be based on standings after the second qualifying round.
Proper dress and behavior is expected of all participants. Bowlers are NOT permitted to wear hats, sleeveless shirts, shorts, clothing with offensive language or graphics, or any apparel which the tournament director feels is inappropriate. Smoking is not permitted by JBT bowlers during the tournament. Any bowler who uses foul language, makes obscene gestures or abuses equipment will be subject to disqualification, as determined by the tournament director. Any bowler who fails to put forth his/her best effort at all times during a tournament may be immediately disqualified, at the sole discretion of the tournament director. Only those bowlers who are still in competition, scorekeepers and tournament officials will be permitted in the settee area. Final determination of suitable attire rests solely with the tournament director. No cell phones or other electronic devices may be used / worn during the tournament by any participant.
The amount of $1000.00 will be added to EACH individual tournament. The amount of $3000.00 will be added to the Championship Tournament at Thunder Alley on Saturday August 8th, 2009. ALL added money will be returned 100% in scholarships.
Championship Finals Participation: There are two ways to qualify for the Championship Finals. The first way is to win ANY of the individual tournaments. If a bowler wins more than one tournament, they only receive ONE entry into the Championship Finals. The second way to qualify is to bowl in a minimum of 5 Midwest Junior Bowlers Tournaments (see schedule below) for the 2009 season. The entry fee for the finals is $30. The payout ratio for ONLY this tournament is 1:2. Bowlers will bowl a 4 game qualifier across 8 lanes with the top 1/2 advancing to the 2 game second round across 4 lanes. The top 8 bowlers after total pins for 6 games will advance to the match play finals. Scholarship awards after the final 8 bowlers will be based on standings after the second qualifying round.
Forms of Payment accepted are: Cash, Cashier's Check or Money Order. Personal Checks and Credit Cards are not accepted at this time.
All rules not covered will default to the USBC rules and regulations.
